On Friday, Sep. 18, owner Thomas Ward opened the combined Pig Floyd’s x Pigzza restaurant at 1050 N. Mills Avenue — the larger Pigzza footprint a few blocks south of the original smokehouse. Pig Floyd’s poured its last plates at 1326 N. Mills on Sunday, Sep. 6, ending a nearly 12-year run that started in 2014. The brands stay; the second rent check goes away.
The service model follows Pig Floyd’s fast-casual lane while keeping Pigzza’s full bar. That matters if you came for brisket and a cocktail, or if you were a late-night slice person — more on hours below.

Orlando Shine’s open-day report (Sep. 18) says the smokehouse side carries over staples largely intact: sandwiches like the Plain Jane Pulled Pork and The Big Floyd; platters of ribs, brisket, and chopped chicken; starters like Sticky Ribs and Brisket Tostadas. Pigzza’s side keeps 12-inch sourdough pizzas — including the Birria (smoked brisket birria + mozzarella) and The Hogfather (pepperoni, brisket, Italian sausage, bacon) — plus pastas such as Birria Pasta and Spicy Sausage Rigatoni. This merge follows a turbulent stretch: the short-lived Lee Road Pig Floyd’s closed in February, and Pig Floyd’s Smokehouse LLC and Pigzza LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March. Contemporary reporting quoted Ward’s attorney describing the filing as a reorganization path while the restaurants continued operating. Ward’s August announcement framed the Mills 50 unification as a way to refocus on scratch cooking, improve efficiencies, and keep guest favorites from both brands alive under one roof — with staff from both locations offered a path to stay.
